Description

Bachelor of Hotel Management (BHM) is a four-year undergraduate degree that trains students in international hospitality, resort management, culinary arts, food & beverage service, front office and housekeeping. It is the flagship degree for a career in the hospitality industry.

Students learn culinary arts (Indian and international cuisine), bakery & patisserie, food & beverage service, front office operations, housekeeping, hospitality law, revenue management and guest relations. The course includes extensive practical training in training kitchens, restaurants and industry internships.

Graduates work as hotel management trainees, chefs, front office managers, F&B managers, housekeeping managers and resort managers in hotels, resorts, airlines, cruise lines and catering companies. The degree offers excellent global mobility.

National Council for Hotel Management & Catering Technology

National entrance for admission to Institutes of Hotel Management (IHMs) across India; tests English, reasoning, numerical ability and hospitality awareness.

Institute / Private University Exams

WGSHA Manipal, Christ, etc.

Some private universities conduct their own entrance tests and interviews.

Direct / Merit-based Admission

Private hotel management colleges

Many private colleges offer admission on the basis of Class 12 marks and a personal interview.

Specialisation in culinary or F&B improves pay.

Senior (7+ yrs / General Manager)

₹12 – ₹30+ LPA

General managers at luxury properties and cruise lines earn well above this range.
