B.Sc. Agriculture is a four-year undergraduate degree that covers agronomy, soil science, plant breeding, agricultural economics, farm machinery, horticulture and extension. It is one of the most practical science degrees, combining theory with extensive field and lab work.
Students learn modern farming techniques, crop production, irrigation, pest management, agricultural biotechnology and the economics of farming. The programme includes rural agricultural work experience (RAWE) and hands-on training on university farms.
Graduates work as agriculture officers, field managers, researchers, extension officers and agri-business professionals in government departments, banks, agri-input companies, food processing firms and agri-startups. The degree also opens paths to M.Sc Agriculture and competitive exams like IBPS AFO and state agriculture services.
