Description
The Diploma in Architecture Assistantship is a three-year polytechnic course that trains students in building blueprints, CAD software, construction planning and architectural drawing. It is designed for early entry into the architecture and construction industry.
Students learn architectural drawing, CAD (AutoCAD, SketchUp), building materials, construction techniques, building bye-laws, surveying and estimation. The course combines classroom learning with studio work, site visits and internships with architects and builders.
Graduates work as architectural assistants, CAD draftsmen, site supervisors, surveying assistants and estimation executives in architecture firms, construction companies, builders and government departments.
