The Diploma in Emergency Medical Technician (EMT) is a one-year vocational course that trains students in emergency medical care, trauma management and pre-hospital care. It is designed for rapid entry into critical healthcare roles.
Students learn emergency medical care, trauma and cardiac emergency management, airway management, bleeding control, fracture management, patient assessment, ambulance operations and medical transportation. The course includes practical training and ambulance internships.
Graduates work as emergency medical technicians, ambulance technicians, paramedic assistants and emergency care assistants in hospitals, ambulance services (108, 102), emergency departments and trauma centres.
